Big Sky Montana has a large variety of dining options ranging from quick meals to fine dining. Here is a guide to dining in Big Sky organized by location and quality.

We would recommend making reservations at any place in Big Sky.

On Mountain

  • Fast Food: Uncle Dan’s: Located at the bottom of the 6 Shooter Lift, Uncle Dan’s Cookies sells homemade cookies, snacks, and paninis to skiers.
  • Casual:
    • Headwaters Grille: The Headwaters Grill is located at the Madison Base Area of Big Sky. They offer great grilled options, along with salads, snacks, soups, and much more.
    • Shedhorn Grill: The Shedhorn Grill is an on-slope lunch yurt under the Shedhorn Chair on Lone Peak. They serve a variety of grilled options and feature 360-degree views of Lone Peak and the surrounding area. This is a local favorite for sunny spring days. 
  • Upscale: Everette’s 8800: Enjoy a fireside cocktail that warms the soul after a long ski day or savor a perfect wine pairing with dinner. Whether you ski into Everett’s for lunch, catch the sunset as you ride up for dinner, or stargaze on the way down, the mountaintop magic awaits.

Base Area

  • Fast Food: The Exchange (Vista Hall) (upstairs in the Big Sky Mountain Mall) is a great place to ski in for lunch. There is a variety of food and options including:
    • Burgers and fries
    • A deli with premade sandwiches, soups, and salads
    • Stone fired pizza
    • Sushi and poke bowls
    • Street tacos
    • A fully stocked bar
  • Casual: Montana Jack’s: For apres ski and nightlife (live music), Montana Jack’s has the perfect casual dining experience.
  • Upscale: The Cabin Bar and Grill: If you’re looking for a sit-down lunch or dinner at the Big Sky base The Cabin is a great option. Locally owned for 20 years, this restaurant has an amazing menu and wine selection.  

Town Center

  • Casual: Blue Buddha: Blue Buddha Sushi is great for casual dining in Big Sky. They have a large sushi and drink menu. They also have a great happy hour from 5-6 every day. 
  • Casual: Ousel and Spur: Ousel and Spur serves authentic Italian pizza and pasta. They also have a great wine selection and can cater to dietary needs. 
  • Upscale: Block 3 Steakhouse is new to the Big Sky Town Center. It features steaks of all cuts, including bison, elk, and venison!
  • Casual: Tres Toros Tacos and Tequila serves authentic Mexican cuisine. Come in to try some tacos and a margarita.
  • Bonus: Beehive Basin Brewery has great beer and is a great local hangout. If you are looking for a way to spend an hour or two in the Town Center, Beehive Basin Brewing is a great option. 

Meadow Village

  • Upscale: Olive B’s has amazing upscale dining including wild game, steak, seafood, and normally some vegetarian offerings as well, always cooked to perfection. Noteworthy wine list and hand-crafted cocktails. Serving Lunch and Dinner.
  • Upscale: Michaelangelo’s serves authentic Italian food in an upscale environment.

Canyon

  • Casual: The Gallatin Riverhouse Grill on Hwy. 191 is a great locals hangout with live music every day and great BBQ. Everyone who visits Big Sky should check out the Riverhouse at least once.
  • Casual: The Corral Bar and Steakhouse serves burgers and steak and features a low-key atmosphere.
  • Upscale: The Rainbow Ranch serves authentic Montana ranch-to-table cuisine and has a memorable dining experience unique to Big Sky country.

Destination Dining

  • Upscale: Horn and Cantle is one of Big Sky’s most popular restaurant experiences. It features one of the best dinner environments in Big Sky and provides an authentic Montana dining experience in an intimate atmosphere. Make sure to call in advance, reservations are usually needed to get a table.
